PalmerSport partners with Ginetta to offer unprecedented motorsport opportunity worth £100,000

23 January 2024

PalmerSport has partnered with Ginetta Cars to provide its guests with the extraordinary opportunity to win a fully financed drive in the Ginetta GT Academy for 2024. This is an extension of the relationship which saw the Ginetta G56 GTA join the PalmerSport line-up as the headline car for its most recent season, to wide acclaim.

The main prize is the chance to compete in all 7 rounds and 21 races of the Ginetta GT Academy’s 2024 season, with six of the events on the prestigious British GT Championship support line-up. It’s the first time that PalmerSport has offered a clear, defined pathway for its customers to transfer the experience gained from the world’s greatest driving event to life as a genuine racing driver.

Booking now open for assessment days – only limited places available

The talent-spotting programme will run as a two-stage process in March, with entrants initially taking part in an assessment at Bedford Autodrome on either Tuesday 5 or Wednesday 6 March. This will include extended driving time and coaching in the Caterham PalmerSport Edition, Palmer JP-LM and the Ginetta G56 GTA itself. Participants will also be required to set solo timed laps in each of those cars.

A maximum 64 places will be available across the two days, and we anticipate these will be filled quickly.

Following the initial assessment, which will be judged by our most senior instructors, two finalists will progress to a final shootout at an MSV race circuit, which will include a funded ARDS race licence test.

Sensational prize package provides once-in-a-lifetime opportunity

The chosen winner will be granted use of a PalmerSport branded Ginetta G56 GTA race car, run by the Ginetta factory team, for pre-event testing and race weekends across the 2024 season. Mechanical and technical support will be included, along with coaching, storage and preparation, and race weekend consumables. The driver will also have access to full VIP Ginetta hospitality at each round for them and up to two guests, as well as a Ginetta branded race suit. So all the winner has to do is turn up and race!

Between the shootout event and the first race weekend, Ginetta will also commit to providing ample testing time for the winner at its Blyton Park test track facility.

The estimated final prize value for the winner is approximately £100,000 plus VAT, all of which will be covered by Ginetta Cars.

Amy Tomlinson, Ginetta MD, who made her racing debut in the GT Academy last season said: "I am really pleased to be able to offer the winner of the PalmerSport talent spotting programme a full season’s drive in the Ginetta GT Academy. We are extremely passionate about helping people to take that first step onto the motorsport ladder and the GT Academy is a superb place to start. From racing in the GT Academy the winner will be able to further develop their skills in a fun and competitive environment."
